Miles Leonard appointed to new YTL Arena advisory board

The man who launched the career of Coldplay and relaunched the career of soon to be Glastonbury ‘legend’ Kylie Minogue, will be joining the YTL Arena team as an advisor.

In his most recent role as Chairman of Warner/Parlophone Miles worked with some of the biggest and most successful global artists and industry platforms. He will be one of a number of industry experts being brought on board to advise the YTL Arena team, ensuring that they deliver an arena that the people of Bristol can be proud of.

The advisory board will comprise people with a wide range of knowledge and expertise from across the live entertainment industry, from television, music and entertainment to backstage crew, promoters and top tour managers, as well as business people from Bristol and the South West.  Their knowledge and expertise will inform the arena design ensuring that YTL Arena puts Bristol on the world stage.

Now based in the South West, Miles signed Coldplay more than 20 years ago and was instrumental in Kylie Minogue’s comeback, as well as launching and developing the careers of Tinie Tempah, Gorillaz, Emily Sande, David Guetta, Lily Allen among others.

YTL Arena Managing Director Andrew Billingham said: ‘We are really delighted to welcome Miles on board. He is crucial in terms of his knowledge and experience, but also as an ambassador for us within the music industry on an international level and will help put Bristol on the world stage.’

He added: ‘We are determined that YTL Arena Bristol will be an industry leader so we are putting together a board of advisors from different fields and with a wide range of knowledge and expertise to make sure that we create an arena that everyone can be proud of.’

Miles said: ‘The culture in Bristol is incredible. It is rich in diversity and the musical heritage is wonderful. Not just Bristol, but the whole of the South West is crying out for an arena. To have an arena in the Brabazon hangars, with the history that comes with them is extraordinary. I think this is going to be the most exciting arena, not just in the UK, but actually throughout Europe and possibly the world.’
